The recent years have seen an exponential growth of digital data. In the next decade the total digital data is expected to cross 35 Zeta Bytes (1 Zetabyte = 1 billion terabytes). There will be a huge requirement for qualified data analysts to manage the data and draw business insights. As per Gartner research, more than 4.4 million jobs in the area of Big Data analytics will be created by 2015. Supply of trained and qualified data analysts will fall short by 66%. This is a huge opportunity for young graduates and budding professionals.
According to recent NASSCOM and Crisil report, the rising demand of data analytics is expected to witness a global shortfall of IT and analytics professional with necessary skills to implement technologies to drive business value. India's data analytics outsourcing opportunity is likely to grow about 83 percent annually approximately to USD 10 billion during 2011-15. There is an urgent need to integrate data analytics in the academic curriculum to create trained manpower to meet the opportunity.
Having recognized the need for professionals in the field of business analytics, SSN SACE launched a six months certificate program for graduate engineers. A six months program was launched on 3rd January 2014 by Dr. Shiv Nadar, Chairman, HCL Technologies.
This program has been designed in consultation with senior experts from IBM, COGNIZANT, and HCL. The program covers the descriptive, predictive, prescriptive analytics and working on Big Data.
