    MS Degree in Chennai - Program Overview

    Once admitted, students begin their studies at SSN SACE, Chennai and transfer 10 semester/ 15 quarter credits to Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA at the end of their first semester. Later, students continue their studies in the School of Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University. After taking classes for 30 credits, SSN and Drexel credits are combined to award the student an MS degree in Biomedical Engineering. The degree will be awarded by Drexel University. Students can achieve specialization by taking elective courses in addition to core courses at Drexel University. MS Program Course Details

    Eligibility for Admission to Program

    • Undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Electronics, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
    • CGPA- 8 (out of 10) / 3 (out of 4) or higher
    • IELTS / TOEFL: IELTS – Overall 7.0 & Above I Speaking 6.5 or higher (or) TOEFL – 90 or higher
    Applications for this program should include an essay of motivation stating the student’s interest in this joint program and two recommendation letters.

    Selection Criteria

    The selection criteria comprise of several parameters to ensure suitable well-equipped candidates for the program. Each component of the application and the interview is important, and the admissions committee will consider a combination of factors including:
    Work experience will be considered with due weightage in the admission process.
    The application process starts in November prior to the academic year on a rolling basis until June 1st of the proposed academic year. First semester courses commence tentatively in July every year.
    The classes eligible for credit transfer (minimum or more than 10 semester credits) are taken as part of the engineering curriculum for MS (BME)- Semester 1. The list of choices for transferable credit courses are
